Here's how you can help:
1. Educate Yourself and Others: Learn about aphasia and share your knowledge.
2. Be Patient: Give those with aphasia the time they need to express themselves.
3. Support Organizations like ours. Donate or volunteer with groups dedicated to aphasia research and support.
June 4th
Imagine struggling to say your own name, to write a simple email, or to read the newspaper. These are realities for individuals living with Aphasia.
Aphasia is a communication disorder that robs individuals of their ability to speak, understand, read, and write. It is caused by damage to the language areas of the brain. Typically, It results from the sroke, but it also caused by traumatic brain injury, a brain tumor, or a brain infection, or brain degeneration.
June 5th
There is no “cure” for Aphasia but people with Aphasia can improve over time. Improvement is a slow process but people may see language gains even after years or decades.
